Learn more about some of Middleton’s historic buildings here:

  • Located at 1720 Aurora Street, Little White Church was constructed jointly by Middleton Baptists and Methodists in 1870. The two congregations held separate services but a common Sunday School. From 1908 to 1926, the building was used by the English Lutheran Church, and from 1936 to 1956, it housed the non-denominational Middleton Community Church. It later housed the local youth center and the American Legion meeting hall. It is currently privately owned as a two-family residence.

  • This Italianate-inspired, side-gabled frame house, adorned with carpenter's lace, was built by Almond B. Kingsley, and is featured in some of the earliest photos of Middleton. Kingsley, a carpenter, lumber dealer, and sawmill owner, was involved in the actual construction of the home. The house is currently privately owned as a single-family home.
